DIY Zoom H1 Carry Case.

550d_227.JPG
Couple weeks ago I bought Zoom H1 handy recorder. It's small, compact and easy to use, but the main problem to me - I didn't have the case to carry it around.

There is one option to buy accessories kit, which contains the carry case, but, it can carry only the Zoom H1 itself, no reserve battery, no earphones, no windscreen and it is pretty expensive.

And as always there is other option: DIY ourself

So I thought it would be great to make something cheap with extra space for accessories.

At home I found old storage box, which was perfect for this project - it's a little bit bigger than H1.

But as you see it has some plastic seperations at both ends.

I take a chisel to grave out those plastic things.

I took a 1cm thick foam from shipping package.

Put opened box on it and cut it of along the edge. Then with scissors cut it for better fitting.

I made 2 pieces: 1 for the bottom and 1 for the top of case.

I also cut a thin strip for one of the inner side, so the Zoom H1 stays in place.

When the foam is inserted you just need to assemble everything in the right order.

In my occassion I have to put in my Zomm H1 first, then my reserve battery.

After that I can fold in my earphones and at the end I put in my windscreen, which supports  H1 from the other side.

Everything fits in like charm, Zoom H1 stays tight in the middle.

I hope you found my instructable useful :]
