Darn Best Chili

I decided one day that i wanted to make chili without using a mix, which by my standards is considered cheating. So after a little research and some serious "spicing" sessions, i came up with the recipe. The first time i made the recipe, it was really good, but it lacked a bit in flavour. Then i made it again, amped up the spice a bit, and served it with rice. Then it was really good. I got the thumbs up from my family, and i decided it was ready for the internet.

Ingredients

--Ingredients--                        
>1 pound ground beef
>1 can drained corn
>1/2 can black beans
>1 can red kidney beans
>1/2 can garbanzo beans
>1 can diced tomatoes
>1 small minced onion

--Spice--
>2 teaspoons chili powder
>1 teaspoon salt
>1.5 teaspoons brown sugar
>1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
>1 teaspoon cumin
>2 teaspoons paprika

Making the Spice

Get a small bowl or custard cup and put the measured amounts of spice in, you should put the brown sugar in last since its sticky. Then crush and blend the spices together until the mixture is uniform, making sure there are no clumps.

Make the Rice

pretty self-explanitory i think.

Cutting and Sautéing the Onions

Peel and mince the onion.--tip:(let your eyes water as much as possible to reduce pain, but don't wipe them until you wash. Just be careful not to cut yourself.) Then put a small amount of oil in a saucepan on medium heat. Sauté the onions until they are translucent, then remove them, and save them for later.

Browning the Beef

Take the ground beef and dump it into the saucepan. Move it around vigorously on occasion until it turns brown.

Adding the Spice

Take the bowl or custard cup in which the spices are and pour the spices into the beef. The heat should not be on, but keep the pan on the burner. Then mix the beef and spices around until they are well combined.

Adding the Vegetables

After the beef and spices are combined, add the vegetables as shown, then mix them around until the chili is mixed evenly. 

Serve

Once the chili is combined, you can let it sit on the burners until ready to eat. You can have the top of the pan on or off, depending on how much liquid is desired. You can also add more spice if you want at this point. When you are ready, serve with rice mixed in, and cornbread if you want.
