Design a 3D Printable Fidget Spinner With Fusion 360
Use Fusion 360 to make a Fidget Spinner that can be 3D printed.
This Instructable is suitable for beginners. No basic knowledge of Fusion 360 needed.

Sketch a Rectangle
- Start with a New Design.
- Click the Create Sketch icon.
- Select the XZ plane (the plane created by the blue axis and red axis).
- Click Sketch -> Rectangle -> 2-Point Rectangle.
- Sketch a rectangle. Type 28 mm for the width and 30 mm for the height.
- Note: To toggle between the two dimensions hit the Tab key on your keyboard.
Sketch Some Circles
- Click Sketch -> Circle -> Center Diameter Circle.
- Find the center of the upper 28 mm long line and sketch a circle of 28 mm.
- Sketch another circle of 22.05 mm from the same center point as the previous circle.
- Find the center of the lower 28 mm long line and sketch a circle of 28 mm.
- Sketch another circle of 22.05 mm from the same center point as the previous circle.
- Click Stop Sketch.
Make a 3D Geometry
- Click Extrude from the toolbar in the Create section. Or hit E on your keyboard.
- Select all the profiles that need to be extruded.
- Enter 7 mm.
- Click OK.
Copy the 3D Geometry
- Click Create -> Pattern -> Circular Pattern.
- In the Circular Pattern dialog box, change the Pattern Type to Bodies.
- Select the body.
- Click Select next to Axis.
- Select the lower face as Axis (see the image).
- In the Circular Pattern dialog box, change the Quantity to 3.
- Click OK.
Combine the Bodies
- Click Modify -> Combine.
- Make sure the Operation is set to Join.
- Select the body1 as the Target Body.
- Select the body2 and body3 as the Tool Bodies.
- Click OK.
Sketch the Caps for the Fidget Spinner
- Click the Create Sketch icon.
- Select the XZ plane (the plane created by the blue axis and red axis).
- Click Sketch -> Circle -> Center Diameter Circle .
- Sketch a circle with the diameter of 22 mm away from the fidget spinner body.
- Sketch another circle with the diameter of 11 mm using the same center point as the previous circle.
- Sketch another circle with the diameter of 8.15 mm using the same center point as the previous circles.
- Click Stop Sketch.
Create the Cap for the Fidget Spinner
- Click Extrude from the toolbar in the Create section. Or hit E on your keyboard.
- Select the outer (biggest) circle profile and extrude it to 2.5 mm.
- Click OK.
- Notice: The sketch is turned off now. To turn it on again, expand the Sketches node in the browser, and click the light bulb next to the Sketch 1.
- Click Extrude from the toolbar in the Create section. Or hit E on your keyboard.
- Select the middle (medium) circle profile and extrude it to 3 mm.
- Click OK.
- Click Extrude from the toolbar in the Create section. Or hit E on your keyboard.
- Select the inner (smallest) circle profile and extrude it to 5.5 mm.
- Click OK.
Fillet the Edges
- Click Fillet from the toolbar in the Modify section. Or hit F on your keyboard.
- Select all the outer edges of the fidget spinner.
- Note: Rotate the design so you can easily select the edges.
- Enter 3.5 mm.
- Click OK.
- Click Fillet from the toolbar in the Modify section again. Or hit F on your keyboard.
- Select the bottom edge of the cap.
- Note: Rotate the design so you can easily select the edge.
- Enter 2.5 mm.
- Click OK.
Copy the Cap
- Right click somewhere in the canvas to access the marking menu.
- Click Move/Copy.
- Change the Move Object to Bodies.
- Select the Cap.
- Change the Move Type to Translate.
- Check the Create Copy checkbox.
- Use the manipulator to drag the copy away from the original cap.
- Click OK.
3D Print the Fidget Spinner
- Print your Fidget Spinner.
- Fill it with bearings and the caps.
- Have fun with your Fidget Spinner.
