Disable Windows 8/8.1/10 Lock Screen
If you're like me, you feel that the new lock screen introduced in Windows 8 is absolutely useless. I just kept it on while using Windows 8 to hide the hideous solid-color login screen. In Windows 10, Microsoft revamped the logon screen, making it look nice. This meant that the lock screen was no longer of any use, as it had nothing to hide.
Open the Registry
It's actually quite easy to remove the lock screen. You just have to add a value in the registry. You can access the registry by pressing ⊞ Win+R (Windows key and R simultaneously).
Personalization Directory
In the registry navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE → SOFTWARE → Policies → Microsoft → Windows. Right click on the Windows folder and create a new key, called Personalization, if you don't already have one in the Windows directory.
Create DWORD
Click on the Personalization folder. In the right pane, right click in the empty area and create a new DWORD. Call it NoLockScreen. Now right click the newly created DWORD and select Modify, and in the window that pops up, modify the value from 0 to 1.
No More Lockscreen
Now all you have to do is reboot your computer to see the changes.
