Diy "million-year-old" Fossils

DSCN0076.JPG

I love paleontology, and I have at home several fossils and even a prehistoric shark tooth, but I've always thought it would be better to create your own fossils, I tried to develop a time machine, but for some reason it didn't work. So I came up with this idea

WARNING: paleontology is fun, but burning yourself isn't, please be careful with high temperatures.

Supplies

Get your pre-fossilized materials, it could be anything, a branch with leaves, some small flowers or the feather of an ancient bird. Also for the dough you will need:

-A cup of salt

-Two cups of flour

-3/4 cup of water

Make the Dough

Combine salt, flour, and water in a small bowl or dish. Mix well until a soft dough forms, if it is too liquid, add a little flour and salt, if there are too many lumps, stir more and add water in small amounts.

Fossil Casting

Get the dough into cookie sized pieces and then press the materials that you gathered to cast their form into the dough

Fossil Baking

Bake the fossils at 200º C or 392º F by around 40 minutes or until the dough gets that nice brown colour.

Admire the Fossils

Just admire the beauty of those newly formed fossils, paleontology is a fine art. Although they are technically edible as they are made of salt and flour, I do not recommend eating them, they are hard and too salty.

Just comments if you need help
