Dog Bicuits

Easy to make and delicious dog biscuits!

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

2 eggs

1 cup of pumpkin puree

3 Tbsp peanut butter

1/2 tsp of cinnamon

3/4 cup Quaker Quick Oats

Baking sheet

Parchment or a Silpat

Measuring cups and spoons

Hand mixer or stand mixer but you can use a bowl and spatula

Spatula

Cooling rack

Cookie cutter

Ruler or measuring tape, but you can eyeball it

Not needed, but I used a pie crust mat

Rolling pin; I made a rolling pin out of a pipe for my small projects but a regular size works just the same

Silpat

Rolling pin So many to choose from but this is a basic one

Measuring cups these are expensive on Amazon but Target and Bed Bath and Beyond might be cheaper with coupons

Kitchen Aide Mixer You can use a different mixer, this is just what I have.

Pie crust mat

2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour, 2 eggs, 1 cup pumpkin puree, 3 Tbsp of peanut butter, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 3/4 cup of quick rolled oats all into the mixing bowl. Dump them all in. These dog biscuits are very simple and do not require any fancy creaming of ingredients. You can mix the ingredients by hand if a mixer is not available.

Notes:

I like to crack my eggs into a bowl. Every now and then I come across a bad egg. I wouldn't want that destroying all my other ingredients.

All of the ingredients are dog friendly and non-toxic according to the ASPCA. I used some organic products but you can use non-organic.

I used the paddle attachment for this dough. It comes together really fast! Once it sticks to the paddle, you are ready to roll it out.

Do your best to shape the dough into a round ball. Sprinkle your dough and rolling pin with whole wheat flour to prevent sticking to the mat and the rolling pin.

Turn your oven on to 350.

Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thick and start cutting with your cookie cutter.

Once you can't cut anymore, repeat gathering dough into a ball and roll out dough again until you are out of dough.

If you don't have a cookie cutter you could use a knife and cut out strips. Your dog won't care.

Bake for 35-40 mins.

Biscuits can cool on the baking sheet or use a cooling rack.

These biscuits are firm right out of the oven and you can easily move them onto a cooling rack.

Your home will smell of vanilla and peanut butter but don't eat them... or do eat them, they are human friendly. They didn't taste so good to me but my dogs love them!
