Dog Stairs
My dog is getting an old and it's becoming hard for him to jump up on things like he used to. The stairs are very helpful but you do need to get carpet on the stairs or else they won't be super comfortable with the stairs and may not use them.
Supplies
3'x5' piece of 3/4" plywood
L Square
Pencil
Measuring Tape
Circular saw
Jigsaw
Sand paper
Sander
Drill Bits
Drill
1 1/2 inch wood screws
Wood Glue
Clamps
Rag
Draw the Design
The bed's height was 30 inches so I wanted to make it 2 steps of equal height so it would be a total of 20 inches but 10 inches per step. I also wanted to be decently wide so I just made it 19 inches wide. Plus I needed some breathing room when it came to making cuts so that is why I used a 3 Foot by 5 Foot piece of wood.
Draw Out Then Cut the Plywood
I measured and drew out the wood I needed with a pencil and the L square. Then I made the cuts with a circular saw and if there were any small perfections need to be made I used the jigsaw. After I made all the cuts I sanded down the edges of the wood with a sander to make sure the sides were smooth.
Put the Wood Together
I pre-drilled a hole through the first step and the side panels of the steps. I then drilled the screw into the holes I pre-drilled and this 3 times on each step and the panels together. I put wood glue underneath each step just to make sure it was secured.
