Do you have old t-shirts that don't fit you? Do you have a toy loving dog? Did you know that you can make a dog toy for your precious pooch out of just one old t-shirt and a tennis ball? By following these simple instructions, you can make one of your own! These toys are very durable, cost nothing to make, and will only take up about twenty minutes of your time to create. So go ahead, and start building!!!

Cutting the Cloth

For this step you need to cut two horizontal strips of you t-shirt under the sleeves. If you have a ruler, go ahead and measure two equal lengths under the sleeves, and mark them. (I used the rulers as markers once I determined the lines) If you do not have a ruler, estimate the middle of the t-shirt from the bottom of the sleeves to the bottom of the t-shirt, and make a mark there. These marks will determine your cutting line. When you are finished measuring the mark, cut horizontally across that line, and at the bottom of the sleeves, so you should have two equal strips. The strips should be able to form a circle, and still connected. Cut vertically across the side of both of the strips to make them one large strip.

The Formation

Place the strips in a x pattern and set the ball at the center of the x. Then, fold the cloth strips over the ball and tie a knot so the strips are hanging from the ball, and the ball is sealed in the cloth, so it cannot get out. There should be 4 cloth strips hanging off of the ball now. One at a time, cut each strip into three different pieces length-wise, and braid them. Once you have almost braided the whole length, tie a knot around the end to seal the braid. Repeat on the other cloth strips.
