Step 1, the Issue: Too Many Cats Sleeping on the Entrance Mat of Our House

OK, let's build a house for them!

Step 2: Build the Frame From Pine Wood

I used a hexagonal shape, all inner edges of the hexagon: 30cm (2X2cm wood rods)+ height: 30cm (5cmX2.5cm wood rods)

Step 3: Cover 5 Sides With Pine Wainscot

Use small screws to fasten it on the frame, otherwise the frame might break!

Step 4: Wood Routing the Entrance

Cut the entrance whole with a jigsaw, soften edges with a wood router and add a fancy sign to know who lives there

Step 5: Create the Roof Joints

Create the roof joints and use a piece of wood to hold them together

Step 6: Use Plywood to Create the Roof

Cut triangle shape plywood parts and drill them onto the roof joints

Step 7: Cover the Roof

Bolt shingle onto the plywood

Step 8: Bottom of the House

Use plywood for the bottom of the house and paint the whole house

Step 9: User Test, Big Failure

Good news: The cats love the house

Bad news: The house is too small

Step 10: OK, Let's Make Another Floor!

Redo all steps before (except the roof part to make another floor) to make another floor. Drill thin plywood panel to the internal parts of the frame, so that you can put a lot of insulation into the house's external wall and the plywood panel.

Step 11: Install the House in the Garden and Live Happily Ever After :)
