Dr Pepper Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Dr Pepper Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Pulled pork sandwiches are a staple of southern food, and what can make this classic even better? Dr Pepper, of course! This is a really easy recipe for this this yummy favorite. Ingredients

  • Pork Shoulder
  • Dr Pepper
  • BBQ Sauce
  • White Onion
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Crushed Red Pepper

Directions

  1. Add the onions to your slow cooker on high heat.
  2. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
  3. Add the 2 cloves of diced fresh garlic to the slow cooker.
  4. Add the meat to the slow cooker.
  5. Pour in 16oz of Dr Pepper.
  6. Cook for 3-4 hours.
  7. Drain off 3/4 of the juice.
  8. Shred the pork.
  9. Add a cup of BBQ Sauce and 1tsp of Crushed Red Pepper.
  10. Cook for another 30 mins.

Serve on a bun and top with onion and pickles or your favorite condiments!
