Click I Agree

Change the path to somewhere where you can save your files. In my schools computer lab we each are given our own network storage folder everytime we logged in. As you will see in this tutorial you have to have different folders for the client and server unless you have two different thumb drives.

Click Close

Configure

If you did as i did and installed to a networked drive you have to make a copy of the synergy folder and then rename them as i have. This way on the one computer you have the settings of the server and the other computer the settings of the client.

You may also just copy the folder to two thumb drives and plug on into each computer.

The first computer that you are configuring is the server. This is the computer who's mouse and keyboard you will be using.

First goto the server folder then run synergy.

Click the button that is called "Share this computer's keyboard and mouse (server). Thenclick Configure

Click the +

Enter in the computer(servers) host name. If you do not know it at the main screen click the advanced button and it will tell you your screen name. Click OK

Click the plus again and add the computer you wish to use as the secondary monitor. You can do this for as many monitors as you would like by following the same steps.

You want to be able to move off the right side of the screen and go onto the client computer so you set up as follows. HS20C10 is the server. Click the plus.

Now you need the left side of the right monitor to go back. So fill out the information and click the plus.

Click OK

Click Start

Configure Client Computer

Goto the client files. Run synergy.

Click the bullet "Use another computers shared keyboard and mouse (client)"

Enter the servers host name/screen name. (on the server click the advanced button)

Click Start

Soon after you will see a lightning bolt across the circle and you may now enjoy your dual monitors.

Enjoy

Notes:

You can copy/paste between two computers

This does not effect the computer at all. Once you stop synergy on both computers its like nothing happened.

Make sure to install it onto your own medium instead of c:\program files

In order to enable again all you have to do is run synergy from both computers(same folders you used last time)

If you want to stay on one monitor for a moment just turn on scroll lock with the scroll lock key.
