That's DUKTIG. Why duktig you may ask. Let me explain. I wanted to keep this design as simple and clean as I can. I really like scandinavian design, for me that's pure beauty, but the problem is that biggest source of scandinavian design for me is Ikea catalog :D. I named this design duktig, that means good in Sweedish, because this robot is good! I focused mostly on usefulness, simplicity and realism of it. We have only 8 years to 2025, I think that in this year drones wouldn't fly in our houses :( The most important factor to bring robots to every house around the world will be price and actual usefulness. As you can see my robot is very simple, what can it do? Transport things from one to the other place. With installed camera it can become a moving camera to see your house when you are away. It can take your dog for a walk or just look awesome (why not :)). I started working on an arm for it, but to be honest thist type of arm is too expensive so I decided to not add it to this design, maybe in the future. It is based on cheap components like very popular 608Z bearings and 775 motor. There are also few parts that can be 3D printed or injection molded. Base of the robot is made out of sheet of aluminium that can be cut using water jet and bended. With simple Kinect sensor it would be able to avoid obstacles and recognition people. As a heart of it Raspberry Pi can be used with Robot Operating System installed. I hope you like my design, if so don't forget to leave a like and comment! If you have any questions feel free to ask!
