EASY Recycled Tape Wallet

Here’s a fun way to make your own wallet out of snack labels. Smart way to reuse bags and labels that can’t be recycled while having a wallet with an interesting design.

-Any duck tape
-scissors
-a chip bag or food/drink label of your choice
-a wet wipe and dry wipe (if your bag or label had food in it)

Make sure that when you cut, you KEEP IN MIND that the wallet will be folded in half at the end. I am using the front side of this Cheetos bag.

We want to make sure that the duck tape will stick, so removing the oil left over helps with that. After wiping the bag, make sure that it is dry before moving on

Based on the size that you cut out, add duct tape along the back of the bag or label. Lining the tape perfectly doesn’t matter too much, you can rip the tape or use the scissors to accurately cut

As seen it the previous photo, the edges aren’t as neat. So add duck tape around the borders of the bag or label. To do this add the strip to the inside then fold it over to the design side. Try and make the outside borders line up. Use the scissors to trim off excess tape

This is where the wallet starts to take shape. Fold the bag or label in half and use duck tape to attach the edges. When you duck tape, use one strip, line it up along the edge, and fold the tape onto the other side.

To make the latch, cut 4 relatively thin pieces of tape (2 short, 2 long enough to reach over the opening).
With the short pieces, stick them to each other on the sticky side (leave 2 sides sticky) then attach it to the wallet.
With the long pieces, stick them to each other on the sticky side (leave 1 side sticky) then attach the sticky part to the opposite side of the wallet
OPTIONAL: you can add tape to the edges of the latch to make it extra secure
