Earthen Pot AC With Homemade Waterpump

During this lockdown I noticed some old earthen pots so I decided to use the cooling ability of pots and make a AC with it . earthen pots first cools water and then by using latent heat of vaporization . AC is of small in size and easily moveable . It is ecofriendly and use minimum electricity . IT is made of old and discarded materials and needs very easy steps to follow.

• 2 old earthen pots one small and another big
• old charger with charger connecter
• old CPU fan
• small piece of pipe
• small piece of PVC pipe
• cylinder stand or steel tray with atleast 2 inch border
• small amount of shredded wood
• 3 small plastic disc
• 1 pump fan (I got it from old small water pump)
• 1 DC motor with plastic supporter
• 2 small bottle for attaching pipes
• some small wires

1. Cut the big pot form its highest diameter so that it longer than 3/4 lenght of smaller pot
2. drill hole of 1cm diameter on one side of small pot for air ventilation in small pot which work as source of hot air for cooling

1. stick the small pot in the center of bigger one with the help of strong adhesive
2. also attach small wooden supporters to it
3. Now place the other cut part of big pot inverted and stick this hole structure it

1. Attach the CPU fan holder on the small pot with the same adhesive and leave it to dry
2. screw the CPU fan to the holder
3. Now take the shredded wood and fill in the gap between to pots

The shredded wood will increase the surface area for cooling air and increases the efficiency

of AC

In the mean time when the adhesive is drying lets make the water pump for our AC

1. take a 4inch piece of a PVC pipe.
2. attach the DC motor with the help of motor supporter.
3. attach a plastic disc on the motor with the hole in middle as shown in the image.
4. now attach the pump propeller and close the space by another plastic disc with hole in the middle for water input.
5. close the another side of PVC pipe with the help of another plastic disc .Make a small hole in that disc for wire output.

attach the motor wires and CPU fan wire in parallel combination and then to the charger connector wire according to the circuit diagram

1. place the pot structure and the water pump on the stand and attach the pipe to the pump
2. fill the tray with the water and now the AC is ready to cool the hot air in your room
