Pour all of the ingredients, other than the boiling water, into a sizable bowl. The order of the ingredients does not matter. However, I personally prefer starting with the dry ingredients such as flour and sugar rather than the milk and eggs.

Tip: Mesure all the ingredients before mixing them together rather than adding one ingredient and then having to go back and measure the next ingredient.

Whisking Ingredients

The next step after you poured all of the ingredients together is to whisk it using either a whisker, or wooden spoon depending on your preference.

While whisking the cake slowly add the boiling water to the mixture until it is smooth and free of clumps.

Tip: Boil the water while you add the other ingredients, so that when you add it to the batter it is still warm.

Pour Mixture in Sandwich Tin

After the cake mixture is completely mixed and smooth pour the batter in the already greased sandwich tin.

Tip: While pouring the batter move the bowl in circle motions, so that the batter is evenly spread around.

Keep the oven on 180ºC

Bake the batter for 30 to 40 minutes

Tip: For testing if the cake is ready stick a fork in the center. If there is any batter coming on the fork the cake is not ready.

Let Cake Cool
