Easy Cranberry Sauce
In this Instructable, I will show you how to make cranberry sauce from scratch. This homemade cranberry sauce recipe is incredibly easy to make and much better than the store-bought cranberry sauce. All you need are just a few ingredients. If I can do it, you can do it. Let's get started!
Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables. :)
Follow the super easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both. :)
Ingredients and Tools
Ingredients:
- 12 oz fresh cranberries (340g)
- 1 cup water (237ml) or use orange juice
- 1 cup sugar (200g)
- 1/4 tsp salt (1g) optional
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (1g) optional
Tools:
- Pot
- Spoon
- Bowl
Add to Pot
Add the water, sugar, salt, and cranberries to a medium pot.
Bring to a Boil
Set the heat to medium, and stir occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil.
NOTE: The cranberries will pop and crack as they heat up, this is supposed to happen.
Simmer and Cinnamon
Once the mixture comes to a boil, turn the heat down to medium-low and allow the cranberry sauce to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow it to thicken up.
With about 2 minutes to go, sprinkle in the cinnamon (if using that) and mix it in.
Once the sauce is thick, you can remove it from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
Store and Serve
Store the cranberry sauce in the fridge until ready to serve. :) Enjoy!
So much better than store-bought, seriously. :)
