Hello everyone! Today, we will create a winter hanging decoration using just a few simple steps. I’ll incorporate my blossom peel-and-stick paper, which pairs beautifully with some miniature faux trees I already have. This project is perfect for beginners, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

If you’re ready, I will provide a complete materials list and step-by-step instructions. For those who prefer a visual guide, I’ll also share a quick video. Let’s get started on our winter hanging decoration!

Supplies

- One wooden hexagon (6" x 5")

- Acrylic paint

- Paintbrush

- Scissors

- Adhesive

- Mod Podge

- Epsom salt

- Miniature faux trees

- Peel-and-stick decorative paper

- Pen or pencil

Trace the Hexagon

Start by placing the wooden hexagon on top of the decorative peel-and-stick paper with the opening facing up. Use a pen or pencil to carefully trace around the hexagon onto the paper.

Cut Out the Shape and Attach It to Wooden Hexagon

Use scissors to cut out the traced shape. If the cut-out doesn't fit the wooden hexagon perfectly, trim small amounts off the edges until it fits snugly. Be sure to check the fit by centering it on the hexagon as you go. Once you have the correct shape, peel off the backing from the decorative paper. Gently press the paper down in the center of the wooden hexagon.

Paint the Hexagon

Using a paintbrush, apply acrylic paint to the wooden hexagon. I recommend painting around the inner section surrounding the decorative paper, as well as the outer section.

Add Miniature Trees

Take the adhesive and attach your miniature faux trees to the bottom inside of the hexagon.

Apply Mod Podge and Epsom Salt

With a smaller paintbrush, apply Mod Podge around the areas where you want to sprinkle the Epsom salt.

And that’s it! Your winter hanging decoration is complete. I love how it turned out, and I think the blossom pattern of the paper complements the winter design beautifully. This decoration makes a stunning addition to any space. Thank you for joining me in creating this winter hanging decoration!
