Easy Orange Peeling
Peeling an orange is almost always a hassle. Often times, the appeal is gone by the time all the work is done... well not anymore! Follow this easy guide to quickly peel an orange with almost any knife, no special tool required!
Gather Your Materials
1. Orange(s)
2. Sharp knife with a good point
3. Cutting board
CUT!
Insert the knife about 1/4" to 5/16" into the orange peel just outside the "belly button" on the bottom side (not the stem side). Cut around this area as if you were going to cut it off, but instead of cutting a full circle, begin a spiral. Keep your knife about 1/2" away from the cut you just previously made at all times. Continue the spiral until you reach the "stem side" of your orange. When you reach the point where the stem would be finally connect your cuts.
PEEL!
Now, simply dig your thumb under the end you started your cut at, and gently run your thumb under the skin all the way to the other end. Often times, you will break the peel, but with practice, you can get it all in one piece as I have here.
