Easy Tin Art

Hello! If you ever wanted to try Tin art, here is a simple instructable to give it a go.

Materials needed: 70% rubbing alcohol, aluminum flashing (you can find this at any home improvement store for about 5 dollars for a 10 x 8 roll), a tack hammer just (my personal choice), a red and black sharpie marker, scissors yellow glitter paint, orange glitter paint, and gold metallic paint. You can use a small nail to pierce the aluminum (I like to use an old dart tip. It works great for me).

Take your black marker, make a simple pattern, and then carefully cut it out.

Now draw some details. Choose whatever pattern you like. Hey! It's your art.

Now tap lightly following your marker lines to pierce the tin, about two taps for each piercing hole. Next tap out some lines around the entire bird.

Now take a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a rag and wipe away the marker. You should have a really cool pattern.

Now, lets paint your bird. Take the red marker and color the bird. I used the yellow glitter paint around the eye, the orange glitter paint for the beak and tail feathers, and the gold metallic paint for the wing. Let it dry completely and you're done. You can punch a hole at the top and hang it on the wall or a tree, or you can glue a magnet on the back and place on your fridge, or even use a simple dollar frame and you have a nice art piece.
