Electric Scooter Build
We tried to fix an abandoned scooter that was found in the garbage. Our attempt was unfortunately unsuccessful, but we had a fun experience trying to make it work again and learn about the different components that were inside.
Supplies
On the first portion of the disassembly, we used a phillips head screwdriver to take off the floorboard of the scooter to reveal the electric components. We had to use a drill at certain moments of the deconstruction because some bolts were too rusty to unscrew by hand. We purchased a charger for the scooter to see if it would charge since the scooter was missing its charger. But unfortunately it was unsuccessful and did not work.
The second part of the disassembly we decided to take the battery out to see if there was battery acid or see if the inside was damaged. But unfortunately we weren't able to remove the lid because it was jammed shut. We then decided to remove the rear wheel and see if damage has occurred inside, but again we weren't able to remove the wheel because we weren't exactly sure how to remove it properly.
We finally decided to try and rebuild the scooter because we weren't sure what the real problem was. There could have been hundreds of things wrong that we didn't know about, and it would have been very expensive. But in the end, we all had a fun experience trying to do a restoration on this scooter and learn about the things inside of it that make it function.
