Elegant Bun Within Minutes
A hair bun is full of versatility in the world of fashion. It's a hairstyle that can be worn during any season, and is especially great to showcase during the Summer! You can dress the bun up by adding hair accessories, or dress it down for a simpler look. The bun is also the go-to hairdo for those of us in a rush. This particular hair bun, however, can be done in very little time while giving the illusion that you spent far more time on your hair than you actually did. It's so simple and yet so gorgeous!
What You Will Need
For this hair tutorial, you will need just one elastic hair band, eight bobby pins, and of course a hair brush. Hairspray is optional. Also make sure that the elastic hair band and bobby pins are durable.
Half Up, Half Down Ponytail
Using your elastic hair band, act as though you are putting your hair up in a ponytail. But as soon as you begin to pull your hair out of the elastic hair tie for the last time, only pull your ponytail out less than halfway. By the time you've completed this step, your hair should look like the image above. A third of your hair should be in a tight loop and the rest of your hair should hang below that same loop.
Let's Rock 'n' Roll (^o^)
Grab the bottom of the ponytail. Roll the bun up using your fingers. Your thumb should be what's enabling you to roll your hair and create a hole in your ponytail roll. Don't roll your entire ponytail because we need enough hair to overlap the loop just as is depicted in the image above.
Overlapping the Loop
As I mentioned before, you will now be overlapping the rolled hair over the loop. Try to make it so that your hair overlaps the hair loop, but does not flatten or split it. If your loop happens to split, don't worry because you can easily just tuck the split sides into your hair bun after it's been pinned.
Secure the Bun
Use three bobby pins to secure each side of your hair roll. Thus you will be using a total of six bobby pins for this step. Once your confident that your bun is secured it may begin to take shape before you even complete the last step. The bun's sides may begin to fall towards your scalp. This is great it means your almost finished! Yay!
Spread and Pin for the Last Time
Gently spread the sides of your bun down to your scalp. Pin the each side with just one bobby pin.
Admire the Finished Product
Viola! A beautiful bun in just minutes (^ยท^)
