Elf Wine Cork Decoration
This elf makes a great Christmas decoration! It's not too big and it's easy to make! You can make one from stuff you can find at your house!
Supplies
- A wine cork
- Paint
- Paper
- Toothpick
- Button
- Modge Podge (Or any glue)
- Safety pin
- Knife
Round the Top
First you want to round the top part of the cork by shaving small pieces off with the knife, until you're satisfied with the outcome.
Create a Neck
Next you take the knife and shave off pieces that are under what will be the head, you keep on shaving until you're satisfied with the result.
Paint
Now you paint the cork. If there is a logo on the cork, it will show through the paint. I just ignored it, but if you don't want the logo there, you might be able to sand it off.
The Arms
Now you cut a toothpick in half. You might also want to cut a little off of the blunt end of the toothpick, but this depends on the size of the cork you're using.
Placing the Arms
Now you poke the toothpicks through the cork. You may want to use a safety pin to get a hole for the toothpick started. Once you have the hole started, it should be easy to poke the toothpick into the cork.
Making the Hat
Now you need to make a piece of paper into a cone shape. This will be the hat for the elf. Before you roll it into the cone shape, you need to paint it. Once you've painted it, you can roll it into a cone and tape it together.
Glueing the Hat
Now you need to glue the hat to the elf. I would recommend putting some glue on a toothpick and scraping that toothpick around the inside of the rim of the hat. Then place it firmly, but gently, to the head of the elf.
The Button
Now you need to glue the button to the elf. You'll want to dab some glue on the button, and the stick it to the place you want.
