Some days ago, my dustpan was broken. Last night, suddenly I woke up with this design in my mind (I was really surprised) and realized this will become an instructable. Here you have!

It has four features:

- Handle.
- Anti-turnover.
- Flexible strip.
- Broom cleaning.

If you cannot buy a new dustpan, this can be useful for some days. And it works fine!

Materials and Tools

You need:

- Cardboard 30 cm x 36 cm (medium or thick).
- Tube -coming from old dustpan- (if you don't have any, always you can use it without).
- White glue.
- Box tape.
- Ruler and pencil.
- Scissors and cutter.
- Cutting mat (I'm using thick cardboard).

Also some clothespins will help later.

Cutting and Scoring

Cut one piece of cardboard as shown in schema. Solid lines are for cutting, dotted lines for folding.
The diameter of my tube is 2 cm, you must adapt both detailed sections to yours.

Score dotted lines helping with scissors or cutter.

Finally, draw some teeth in one side and cut them with scissors.

Folding and Glueing

Fold by dotted lines and then glue both wings, taking care not to glue flaps. Clothespins will help now. Wait to dry as product indicates.

Finishing

Now, cut a piece of tape and put on on the edge, taking care it must protrude a little (this helps collecting dust).

Put on the tube carefully, with circular motion. If the cardboard doesn't support its weight, I suggest you to reinforce it glueing a rear piece of cardboard and some tape.

Remember to recycle cardboard when not using any more, removing tube and tape.

Work is done!
