you want it to be! I haven't given any sizes because if you follow the steps you can make it as big as you want.
Step 1 : You'll Need
For this crazy emu You will need:
- Wool
- Fishing line
- Felt
- 2 sew on eyes or buttons
- Some Cardboard
- Scissors
- A Sewing Needle
- Some wood
- Toy stuffing
Step 2: the Head
To make the head cut two rings the same size out of cardboard, make them about the size you want his head to be, but make it a bit bigger than you will need because you can all ways make it smaller later.
Put the two rings together and start wrapping wool around the rings by going in the inside ring and then around the edge and back through the middle ring over and over again, unless its a really big head you will need to cut some wool off then start wrapping it around because all of the wool wont fit through the inside ring.
Do this a few times so that its 1 or 2cms thick all around.

Step 3: Finshing the Head
Push some of the wool away so that you can see the cardboard and push the scissors in between the two cardboard rings and start cutting all the way around it then put some wool between the cardboard and tie it.
Then cut 2 triangles out of the felt and sew 2 side of it together and fill it up with Stuffing and sew it up then sew it to the head you just made and sew the eye on to the sides.
Do all the steps again so that you have a bigger one for the body and two smaller ones for his feet.

Step 4: the Neck and Legs
Get the largest one (his body) and tie three pieces of wool the same length and plait them together and tie this head to this, make two shorter ones for the legs and tie the smallest two pompoms ( the small ones of things you made for the head) and tie the other end of the plait one on to each side of his body.
Step 5: Tie to the Wood
Get your piece of wood and make sure it go's from the head to about 20cm past the body so you have something hold and then cut a piece 20cm long and put it where the legs will be to make a t Shape (look at the drawing bellow) tie them together with some wire (a LOT of wire!) and get some of the fishing line and the needle and sew through the middle of the head and tie it where it it shown bellow (head) do the same by sewing through the body and tie it to where it says' body 'on the drawing bellow, tie fishing line half way up his leg and tie where it says 'leg' on the drawing bellow and do the same with the other leg.
Finished!
And your emu puppet is finished!
You could make it a bit different by making it a different animal with 2 legs? or anything you want!
Have fun ( :
