While messing around in the kitchen one day, I made this bread which is inspired by everything bagels. It is great when you are short on time and also looks some what artisan:) (which is always a plus). And now it is a family favorite.

Supplies

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp onion flakes
  • 2 tsp garlic flakes
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 loaf of homemade or store-bought raw bread dough(thawed if frozen)

Mix Spice Topping

First preheat your oven to 350F. or 176C.

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onion flakes, garlic flakes, and Parmesan cheese. After that, spread the mixture onto a piece of parchment and set it aside.

Braid Your Dough

Cut the bread dough into three equal pieces and roll them into logs.

Brush the beaten egg all over each log.

Next, roll each one of the logs in the bagel seasoning so that they are completely covered.

After that, press the ends together and braid the dough by crossing right strand over middle then left one over the new middle strand. Repeat this process with the rest of the dough. After braiding, you will also want to tuck both ends under the braid.

Bake

Bake the bread for 30 minutes or if you want a fluffier bread, let the dough rise for about 20-30 minutes and then bake.

Eat!

Then of course eat it!
