How to exctract and print 3D models (STL) from TAC or MRIs

Purpose:

-DICOM FILES ( from TAC or MRIs )

-knowledge of Blender , Netfabb , MeshLab

-3D printer

INVESALIUS

Invesalius acquires the 3d model to Tac and / or MRIs with four simple steps :

1- Import DICOM images

2- Select region of interest ( in this case compact adult bone)

3- Create 3d surface

4- Export image (JPEG) or 3D model ( STL )

MESHLAB

We import the 3D model MeshLab to eliminate the parts that we feel superfluous .

BLENDER

With Blender we can further refine the 3D model , such as reducing the number of faces and smooth .

I just used SCULPT MODE but you can use modifiers such as SUBDIVISION SURFACE.

NETFABB

With Netfabb make sure that the model is without error and proceed to the 3d print ...
