Eye of the Pumpkin

What you will need:

• Arcylic paint
• One big pumpkin
• One small pumpkin(optional)
• A knife of your preference
• Red and blue food coloring(you only need this if you are going to make the fake blood and/or dye the pumpkin guts
• Corn syrup(only is you want to make the fake blood)
• Flour(only if you want to make the fake blood)
• Water(only if you want to make the fake blood)
• Gloves(optional)
• Potato peeler(optional)
• A contractor bag
• Wet wipes

I got the idea for this from the internet. Someone else did something like this which is where I got my idea.

The first thing you need to do is get a big pumpkim. I used a second small pumpkin as well so that I had enough pumpkin guts. Cut them open and take out the gut. Don't throw them away!

Place everything on the bag so you don't make that much of a mess. Trace the outline of the eye and teeth of the pumpkin with a knife as shown in the picture.

Peel the skin off the eye of the pumpkin

The next thing you need to do is carve the teeth out. Start by using the knife to cut two V's into the pumpkin and then cut out the space between them. Keep doing that on the top and bottom of the eye.

Use your knife to define the edges of the teeth. Then chisel out a relief area between the top and bottom layers of teeth so it is level with the space between the individual teeth. Try to get it so that it looks like the picture.

First paint the area white and then paint an eye with acrylic paint.

Attach the pumpkin to a board. I used a piece of wood. I would recommend attaching it by putting a nail through the bottom of the board. If you do it this way I would recommend using a big nail.

Mix the guts of the pumpkin with red food coloring to make them look like actual guts. You can remove the seeds if you want.

Mix corn syrup, red food coloring, a bit of flour, and a tinny bit of water in a bowl. The flour will make the blood thicker. You can a a drop of blue food coloring if you want it to be darker. You can wear gloves if you want because otherwise your hands will look like mine.

I used a hot glue gun to glue the guts to the board but you can use whatever glue you want. It took a lot of glue

Apply the blood to the pumpkin and the guts

Take a bunch of pictures because if you are like me, you will be very impressed with yourself!
