This recipe is based off the Famous Flour's Banana Bread and tweaked to my family's liking.

Ingredients

DSC_0022.JPG

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup oil

3 1/2 bananas, very ripe

2 tablespoons sour cream or vanilla yogurt

2 teaspoon vanilla extract (We like the flavor)

2/3 cup walnuts or pecans

1 cup of chocolate chips (We prefer dark chocolate)

Preheat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees! Nothing is worse than finishing the mixing and preparation, only to have to wait at the last minute for your oven to heat.

Prepare a large loaf pan by lining it with a sheet of parchment paper. This makes taking the bread out much easier, and may even save you a dish to clean.

Or if you are taking this to a party or get together, it does really well in lined muffin pans. Just fill them about 3/4 full since they will rise.

Gather all your ingredients and measure them out. Add together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a small mixing bowl. Set it aside to add to the main bowl later.

Beat eggs briefly, then add in the sugar slowly. Continue to beat the mixture until consistency is fluffy. This may take up to 10 minutes. Drizzle in the oil, mixing thoroughly.

In a large bowl, mash 3 - 3 1/2 bananas up until even consistency. ~Or you can just do it my way, squish them up in your hands (freshly scrubbed clean, of course!) right over the sugar/egg mixture bowl and save yourself an extra dish to wash.~ Add the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla to the egg/sugar mixture. Stir together.

Fold in all the dry ingredients mixture from Step four. Also add the chocolate chips and nuts.

Pour the mixture into the lined pan and bake for approximately one hour. The smell is delicious, and the neighbors just may have to drop by for invented reasons, so be prepared!

It is finally done! After taking it out of the oven, the bread is much too hot to eat, but it is a great at making your home smell delicious! This is a realtors dream. Take the bread out of the pan using the liner and sit on a cooling rack to, well, cool. Yes, I know, I used a cutting board, but at least it looked pretty.

After cooling, all you need to do is cut it into slices if you used a loaf pan, or serve it if you used a muffin pan.

ENJOY this divine banana bread!
