Fingerless Gloves With a Twist!
Hello! This is my first Instructable! Hope you enjoy! The video shows some techniques that I mention in more detail (like making your own stitch markers, or doing an invisible increase).
You will need:
- Yarn
- Size 6 straight and double pointed needles
- Embroidery needle
- Stitch holders
- Cable needle
(If you want to avoid sewing up the side at the end, you can just knit in the round the whole way.)
There are 4 sections: Base to Wrist, Wrist to Mid-Palm, Top of Palm, and Fingers
I spent roughly 4 hours per glove.
Enjoy!
Base --> Wrist (Rows 1-40)
Right Glove:
Cast on 40 sts
- Knit 3 - Purl 4 - Knit 6 - Purl 4 - Knit 23

Right + Left Gloves:
On right side (odd numbered rows), add 2 stitches at the beginning and end of the gusset till row 52

You should have 35 sts + 13 Gusset sts by the end of this section.

Right and Left Gloves:
Row 53: Knit until gusset, section off gusset sts into a stitch holder - continue knitting as normal
Row 61: Add 6 sts on big knit section Row 63: Add 7 sts on big knit section
Should have 48 sts at the end (12 per finger!)
Fingers
Section off 12 sts per finger (see picture)
Knit each finger in the round for 7 rows and cast off.
Finishing Touches
Sew the side of the glove up with the embroidery needle.
Weave in ends, using them to close up the inevitable holes at the base of the fingers.
Voilà!
