Fix a Shelf With Sugru

Don't you just hate it? You've lost one of those plastic thingies that holds up your shelves. Sure, you could buy another one (if you can find them!) You could even 3D print one. But why go to all that trouble? Surgu provides a quick and easy fix. Read how!

Find a Screw

Find a screw, dowel or other object that you can shove in the hole. It doesn't need to fit perfectly. We'll take care of that in the next step.

Mould Sugru

Mould some Sugru around your screw. You can compare it to one of the shelf supports you do have to make sure it's about the right size.

Flatten One Edge

You'll want to flatten the edge of the Sugru that will come in contact with the shelf. Remember that Sugru cures in around 24 hours, so you'll need to make sure it's the right shape now and now later!

We're Done!

And we're done! Insert your new shelf support (after Surgu has cured) and look forward to many more years of holding stuff up.
