Flushable Wet Wipes/ Baby Wipes.
Much cheaper and better for the environment, you can make your own hygienic toilet wipes with very simple products you have at home.
Keep them in the bathroom, nursery or car.
You need a roll of the thickest kitchen paper towels available, preferably 3 ply variety. Two empty 1 liter yogurt containers or similar. Baby oil, essential oils ( I use lavender or eucalyptus, but any that you prefer) and liquid body wash.
You'll need a small saucepan to boil the ingredients together briefly, a 200 ml cup to measure water, a serrated knife and a teaspoon to measure oil + body wash.
Into your saucepan put 200ml of water, 2 teaspoons of baby oil, 1/4 of a teaspoon of bodywash and 5 drops of essential oils.
You only need a tiny little amount of bodywash- don't overdo it or you'll end up too soapy.
Boil these ingredients together for one minute and put aside to cool down.
Cut your roll of kitchen paper towels in half.
Remove the cardboard tube from the cut rolls.
Put the rolls into the containers and pull up the end of the roll from the inside center of the rolls.
Finally, pour all the cooled liquid over one of the containers. Keep the lid on the container so they don't dry out.
Prepare another batch of liquid for the other container of paper towels. I usually make one at a time, 200ml of liquid for each container, but you can just double the mixture and prepare it all at once for both. Just take care to measure just 200ml of liquid into each container, otherwise the towels will be too wet and will disintegrate when you pull them up from the container.
These wipes are really handy and fresh and keep your hands and backside nice and clean, and you can safely flush them without worry about damaging your sewer system or the environment as they are biodegradable. They don't need lots of chemical preservatives and ingredients because they have not been kept in storage or in a grocery store and you will use them pretty quickly.
Have a nice clean Holiday Season!
