In my projects I use a lot of sticky tape and I noticed that the reels fit comfortably over my hand so I decided to recycle them and create some bangles. I have a large stash of eyelash yarn which I am using to crochet a large blanket. I realised how cool it would be to utilise some of these funky yarns to decorate them.

Supplies

A used-up sticky-tape reel, double-sided sticky-tape, eyelash yarn and a pair of scissors.

Let’s Get Started

Cover the outside of your used sticky-tape reel with double sided, sticky tape.

Wrapping Your Yarn

This project uses a bit more yarn than you might think so it is a good idea to have at least 25g of eyelash yarn. If you do run out, you can easily tie on some more to keep going. Start wrapping your yarn, leaving a long end that you will use to tie it off when you have finished.

Completing Your Bangle

As you are wrapping, keep the yarn threads nice and close together. You don’t want to see the cardboard peeping through. The sticky tape will keep your yarn from moving once it is in place. When you have completed the wrapping, tie the ends together and voilà! A beautiful furry winter bangle to keep your wrists, warm and impress your friends.

Great for Gifts

They look fabulous with a jumper or cardigan and would make very nice Christmas presents for friends and family.
