For some time now I have been contemplating building a night vision system to my car, so using a dome CCTV camera fitted with a ring of infra red led's round the lens, which is fitted in the space where my cars VW logo was, and a small five inch monitor on the dashboard, activated by switching on the cars headlights.

the system has been tested during the night and is very effective so much so that it can "see" much further ahead than the dipped headlights can, really effective and reasonably unobtrusive on the car,
