Garage Door Installation
When it comes to garage doors Melbourne is an area filled with them. Homes in the city are typically built in the common suburban fashion with attached garages and attractive doors installed to protect whatever is stored inside them. If you don't yet have a garage door installed or wish to upgrade your current one you may consider installing it yourself. It can seem like a daunting task at first but in actuality with a few basic tools and some hardware know-how it's a relatively painless process.
For automatic garage doors Melbourne offers a wide variety of dealers to purchase from. When installing a garage door it is important to remember not to rush into any purchase. The first step to garage door installation is to make sure you have the proper space around your garage opening so that you're purchasing a door of the correct size. Take a few initial measurements that you can bring to the door dealer with you. First measure the garage opening, both height and width. This is simply the entire garage door frame size, the area the door will cover. Next measure sideroom, which is the area of wall inside the garage opening on the left and right. Typically at least three inches is needed on each side to mount the side door tracks. Finally measure the headroom, which is the area from the ceiling to the top of the opening. Since the overhead track and motor are mounted on the ceiling you'll want at least 10 inches of clearance here.
Attach the three sections together using the included hinges. This process only requires you to slide one end of each hinge assembly into the other, allowing the door panels to move freely as the door goes up and down.
Mount the pre-built track on the wall alongside the door opening and slide the door rollers into the track, effectively locking the door onto the track.
Finally, attach the spring from the hook on the door to the motor intake itself and your brand-new self-installed garage door is ready for use.
