A small stool that can be used when planting in the garden.

For the convenience of users during the maintenance of raised plant beds, which are one of the needs of the garden, the construction of stools has been proposed.

Supplies

For 3 Stool Supplies:

  • Wood for seating 100cm x 14cm x 2cm
  • Wood for legs 4.5cm x 4.5cm x 200cm
  • Drill and screws (min. 12 pieces)
  • Jigsaw Machine
  • Sanding Machine
  • Wood Filler
  • Acrylic paint and brush
  • Varnish

Founding Materials & Measuring

We made the stools using materials that are waste-free and not treated with any chemicals. This is important because a product used in the garden should not harm the environment, as it could affect the ecosystem within it.

We found all the wood materials in the garden. The seat surface wood comes from an old crate, and the slats we used for the legs are leftover pieces from wood previously bought for the garden.

We started the project by measuring our long pieces.

Cutting & Sanding

We also cut them with a jigsaw machine and created the legs of our stools. The size of the stool legs is 4.5 x 4.5 x 20. We determined the measurements taken for the seat part and their cutting. The seat part size is 14 x 2 x 36. Then, it was time to wrap. All the pieces were taken apart one by one. We sanded all the parts with a sanding machine to get rid of the roughness on their surfaces.

Glue & Screwed

We first glued the sitting surface and legs with wood glue to make them more durable. Then we screwed the legs using a drill. We needed approximately 12 screws for 3 stools.

Painting & Vanishing

After our stools were prepared, we started painting. After the painting process was completed, we finished our project by varnishing it.
