Gelatin Skeleton With Brains for Your Halloween Party

Gelatin Skeleton2.JPG

In this Instructable I will show you how to make a jello dessert with cottage cheese mixed in for a ghoulishly good treat! All you need is a jello mold and the ingredients. Seriously, I love jello and cottage cheese, and you will too once you make this dessert for your next Halloween party.

Gather Your Materials and Ingredients

Here's a list of what you will need:

  1. Jello Skull mold
  2. 4 cup Gelatin Dessert box
  3. 12 oz (or larger) tub of cottage cheese
  4. Kitchen equipment

Mix Up the Jello!

Step 2.JPG

Follow the ingredients to mix up the jello. I used 2 Pyrex measuring cups to measure out the water, since you can measure the water and heat it up in the microwave in the same container. Then pour it into the mold. Don't pour all of it into the mold as you will want room to place the cottage cheese.

Refrigerate and Add Cheese!

Step 2 (2).JPG
Step 2 (3).JPG

Add the cottage cheese after you let the gelatin set-up in the refrigerator for about half an hour. That way when you add the cheese it wont sink all to the bottom. But you do want it to sink some so it looks like a brain. Once that is done set it back in the refrigerator to fully set-up.

Removing the Mold From the Jello

Once you have let it set in your fridge for at least two hours you can take it out and begin the process of removing it. First, fill your kitchen sink with warm water enough to submerge your mold almost completely. Hold it there for a minute or two. What you are doing is actually heating the outer edge of the jello so it releases it's contact with the mold. Then hold the mold and shake it gently just to be sure you have released any jello sticking to the mold. After that hold a wet plate with one hand over the mold while holding the mold with the other hand. Quickly flip the mold over so the jello will flop onto the plate.

Compleated!
