Giant Pokeball
Create a giant pokeball for your soft toy (Pokemon) to sit in!
Supplies
1. Newspaper (papier mache material)
2. Glue, Flour (papier mache binder)
3. Card board strip , cardboard circle (3 shapes each )
4. Reference basket (hemi-spherical).
5. Scissors.
Step 1: Find a Hemispherical Basket Which Is Solid.
1. Find a basket which should be solid in structure and hemispherical in shape.
Step 2: Create Papier Mache Glue
1. Mix 2 spoons flour with water, add a pinch of salt. (Glue may be added in this step instead of flour)
2. Alternative, any papier mache mixture would work.
Step 3: Shape the Basket.
0.1. Cover the basket with a polythene/plastic sheet to remove the papier mache.
1. Cover the basket with strips of newspaper/paper each time dipping the piece into the papier mache glue mixture.
2. As shown in the figure, cover the basket, completely on curved side.
3. Create 2 such shapes one for the bottom and on for the top. NOTE : The bottom should have a flat base or it would roll. Make the bottom with a flat base about 5cm radius or paste a cardboard piece below the bottom for standing.
4. Let each piece dry for 2 days.
5. After drying, remove the plastic from the basket and the plastic from the papier mache shape.
6. paint the inside of each shape with black.
7. Paint the outside of the bottom with White color.
8. Paint the outside of the top with Red color.
9. Paint the cardboard strip which is black. Fix this strip onto the top part of the papier mache.
10. Paste the circles of cardboard on the strip. There should be 3 circles, each overlapping the bigger one.
11. Paint the circles as shown in the figure.
12. Cut a cardboard strip and staple the two ends to create as a joint to the two hemispheres.
13. Paint this joint as black. Make sure, the joint is inside the ball for showiness.
14. Just say, "Pikachu, I call you!" and open the pokeball to reveal your pikachu.
