Girl at the Beach- Polymer Clay
Summer, heat, beach, pool, holidays!...
Playing with clay is very fun and it can be an excelent activity for any time of the year! :D
Sometimes images worth more than words... watching the video can help you to understand all the following steps
Make an aluminium foil and cover it with polymer clay.
Apply some decorations to your ball. I've just added some polymer clay dots with different colors.
Insert a toothpick in the center of the ball. This will be the figurine structure and will prevent it from falling
I use another toothpick to make the doll's body. Once the body is shaped, transfer it to the toothpick in the ball.
The legs are made with 2 long cone shapes, and the structure is a piece of aluminium wire. The aluminium wire will prevent the legs from deforming when the piece is in the oven
Now it's time to give our girl a nice bikini, the arms and feet! :D
With simple shapes you can give your figurine a very expressive look and even personality!
Once the work is done you need to bake the piece to cure the polymer clay.
I use fimo soft in this project. The recommended time in the oven is 30 minutes, at 110°C/230°F If you use other brands you need to see the specifications in the package.
After baking, fill the goggles with Fimo liquid and bake it again. Or you can use the heat gun to cure the liquid fimo (In this case keep a safe distance to prevent your piece from burning)
