Guess the Number Yes/No Game Maths Cut-Out Cards (Number Grid 1-15 STEM)
This is fun project for kids and Maths Teachers to make with their students. I actually learned this when I was 10 years old at school but I’ve sadly never seen it shared online so of course I set about rectifying this oversight and here it is in all its glory! The game allows you to guess anyone’s number between 1 and 15 through process of elimination using cards with a 4x4 grid.
The best part is the number is presented via a 'cut out' window on the reverse!
- All you have to do is ask the ‘soon to be amazed’ contestant to choose a number between 1 and 15.
- Ask them if they can see the number on card 1.
- If they say ‘yes’ place the card at the back with ‘yes’ at the top. If they say ‘no’ turn the card so ‘no’ is at the top and place at the back.
- Do the same for cards 2 and 3.
- Ask the same question for card 4 and turn it so ‘yes’ or ‘no’ is at the top but do not move it to the back!
- Turn the cards over and on the rear will be the number they chose!
Supplies
- White card 160gsm (or greater if your printer allows)
- Colour Printer
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Ability to count to 15 and be a performer!
Create Cards 1,2 and 3
Print off the PDF document and cut out cards 1,2 and 3 including the Cut Me Out shaded boxes
Create Card 4
- Print off Card 4 both Front and Back
- Place the cards as shown in the photo
- Glue one side and bring the two sides together making sure number 8 is in the left hand corner on both sides as you look at them.
The Finished Product!
You should now have 4 cards and can start amazing your friends!
Remember the number guessed will appear on the rear of the cards through a cut out window.
