HG RGE-G2100 Clanche: Step-by-Step Transformation
Instruction manuals. We all lose them. If you somehow lost your manual for your HG Clanche before you built it...congratulations, that's a new level of fail. However, if you built your GunPla and then later lost the instruction manual, you might forget how to transform your Clanche into its mobile armor/jet/flying thing mode. For those who have, here's how to do it.
What You Need
If you lost your instruction manual, chances are you might have lost some of those other little doo-dads that came with the kit. Luckily, only some of the pieces are used in flight mode. You will need:
- The Clanche (obviously)
- The Hyper DOTS (or whatever it's called) rifle
- The shield (beam saber optional)
- Both closed fist hands (optional but highly recommended)
- The stand (optional, but this thing's big, how do you lose it?)
I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures. I don't actually have a camera, so I used my iPod. So sue me.

Step 1: the Hands
This is the only bit of partsforming involved (with the exception of the gun and shield). Remove the hands and rotate the wrist pieces 90ยบ towards the back; the protrusion that covers the back of the hand should be on the same side as the large red thruster. Next, fit the closed fist back onto the arm. Do this for both sides.
Step 1.5: Hand Storage
Any unused hands can be stored on the bottom of the stand as shown.
Step 2: the Head
This step is a bit tricky. You want to carefully but firmly press down on the head. The head, neck, and inner shoulder piece will move down about half a centimeter and click into place.
/!\ Caution: The mechanism that allows this isn't particularly durable, so be careful.

Step 3: the Arms
Fold the arms back and around as shown. The two fists should meet behind the upper torso.
Step 4: the Legs
Fold the waist and legs back as shown, straightening the legs if needed. The small red plates on the back of the hips should fit into the spaces on the back of the legs. The front and back of the feet fold together, turning the foot into a thruster.
Step 5: the Gun
One of the more iconic parts of the Clanche's flight mode is the rifle on the front. To mount it, open the top flap and slide the handle into the slot on the bottom of the Clanche's chest. Then fold the top flap until it rests on the head as shown.
Step 6: the Shield
At some point during the transformation, you probably removed the small red back piece or had it fall off. If not, do it now. It has a slot on top that the shield's peg fits into; peg in the shield before reattaching this piece. Then replace the red piece and shield assembly using the hook to lock into the back slot of the Clanche. Note: the shield/back piece assembly is rather loose, and may come apart as you try and mount it. The mounting to the main body is also loose; this is why I recommend fitting the shield onto the back piece when it is removed.
Finish
Congratulations! Your Clanche is now in flight mode and ready to keep the air clear of Vagans...or just sit on your shelf and look nice. Your choice.
