HOW TO MAKE a WRITING MACHINE WITHOUT ARDUINO
INTRODUCTION
The writing machine was made from materials that can be easily got at home; it makes use of six electric motors which basically serve as the basis of its work. It can be used in Engineering drawing and architectural drawing. It can be described as mechanically programmed. As you run through the instructions you will learn more on the principles of its work.
MATERIALS NEEDED
For this project, you will need the following easy to get materials from Home:
1. Four Powerful Electric Motor
2. Two less powerful Electric Motor
3. Tie Rods (Roof Paddings)
4. Connecting Wires
5. Carton
6. Plastic plates
7. Pen
8. Ply wood
ATTACHING THE TIE ROD TO THE PLY WOOD
Cut two pieces of Tie Rod of the same length and attach the width to the Ply wood through the use of a strong adhesive.
This part of the machine will later be refers to as THE BASE in this lesson
Check the Image for more Help.
ELECTRIC MOTOR CONFIGURATION
Cut the plastic plate forming a small circular shape, Check the image for more information.
Also cut small cylindrical shape from the writing pen. Attach these plastic plates to the two end of the cylindrical shape according to the diagram. Fit this to the Electric motor and do the same for the other five Motors.
ATTACHING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR
Attach to Electric motor to the base of a Tie rod, reference the image. Make two of these.
This will serve as the medium of moving the machine. Make sure the wheels of the electric motor directly fits in on the tie rod attached to the ply wood and ensure its free movement to and fro the surface.
FITTING THE WRITING PART
Check from the image, the two tie rods are fussed together using a grooved tie rod (This can be done using a chisel). Make sure the already made parts fit in to the base perfectly.
ATTACHING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR 2
Now to the other parts of attaching the electric motor, we are going make the major writing part of the machine.
Attach two Electric motors to the two grooved parts of the writing part by the help of the wheels. Make sure these wheels moves smoothly inside the groove.
Create a space in between these motors to fit in the writing material (Pen or Pencil)
Refer to the image for more clarification.
ELECTRICAL WIRING
The wiring for the base and the writing part is done separately. The principle of the two wirings is the same.
Connect the batteries to make the two part move to and fro on their wheels.
CONCLUSION
Your machine is ready to work, change the polarity of the wires and the direction of the writing material will change to give whatever you want to write.
