Halloween Candle Holder

In this project, I created a candle cover based pumpkin.

To me, it's definitely a more modern (and reusable) take on Jack O' Lanterns!

1. Having access to the CAD program Fusion360, as well as a 3D Printer!

Sketch out a semi circle-ish side of your pumpkin so that we can use it for the shape of your pumpkin.

1. This includes however round and long or stubby you'd like it!

Revolve the shape around the flat line in the "middle" of the pumpkin to complete making the round shape of your pumpkin!

1. And don't worry about revolving it and not being able to adjust and tweak your sketch, because you definitely can adjust it to your liking!

Now, sketch the face or design you'd like to put into the pumpkin.

1. Place your sketch right in front/on the outer edge of the pumpkin so that it can be accurately cut into the candle holder.

Extrude your sketch backwards until it cuts completely through your pumpkin so that way it is nice and clear in your print!

1. You can also tweak your sketch once again if you don't like how it's extruded and it will adjust itself.

Next, put a hole directly in the top middle of the pumpkin.

1. BUT, make sure the hole does not go all the way through, because we will be putting a hole of different size in the bottom.

After putting your hole into your design, sketch your handle and make sure the circles that are going to be used to sweep around the handle.

1. Make sure your circles are somewhat inside the figure itself so that when you sweep it, it goes into the pumpkin completely and is joined together.

Now, sweep your handle from one side to the other and make sure it goes into the thick layer of the pumpkin so that it completely connects!

1. Make sure not to sweep it all the way through to where you can see it inside the pumpkin through the hole.

After sweeping your handle, use the circular pattern function to make an array of handles, you can do as many as you'd like.

1. Make sure to fillet any sharp edges because this will make printing your candle holder easier for the 3D printer itself. It will also make your print much sturdier AND less prone to breaking.

Now we can finally put the hole into the bottom middle of your candle using the hole function, be sure to make this hole a bit larger than the top since you need to put your candle through the bottom of it.

1. After making the hole in the bottom, fillet and round it so that it isn't as sharp and prints out easier.

Finally, you can pick the colors of your choice for your pumpkin candle holder and print it out!
