Halloween Crochet Ghost Hand Puppet

Halloween Crochet Ghost Hand Puppet.jpg

Crochet Hand Puppets are a favorite among the kids. They just look super cute. Crochet Hand Puppets are a versatile project to make. You can make them for hands or you can even make cute small puppets for fingers. Either way they are always fun to make. Crocheted Hand Puppets make great gifts and are a great option for Craft Fairs.

With Halloween around the corner , this would be the best best time to make some Ghost themed crochet projects. Today am sharing the pattern for Halloween Crochet Ghost Hand Puppet. I made this as a part of the 2024 Halloween Crochet Along with Marie at Underground Crafter.

The pattern is super easy which is made with only single crochets. The size of the hand puppet is easily customizable. You make as big as you want or as small as you wish.

Round 1:-

Start with a Slip Knot- Leave a long Tail end while making the Slip Knot.

Keep the Tail End Down and the Working Yarn on the Top.

**Wrap the Tail end on the hook , Yarn Over the Working Yarn and Pull Up a loop** - This will make 1 Stitch. With This method you will have a neat finish.

Repeat from ** to ** untill you have total 30 Stitches.

This measures around 5''.

Slip Stitch into the 1st Stitch

Before making the slip stitch, wrap it around your wrist and check the size.

If you find the size to be big or small, then you can increase or decrease the number of chain stitches.

Round 2:-

Chain 1(This is not counted as stitch. This is just to bring the yarn to the height).

1 Single Crochet in the same.

1 Single Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.

Once you reach the end, do not slip stitch.

We will be working in continuous rounds.

30 Stitches.

Round 13:-

2 Single Crochets in the first stitch.

1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the 15th Stitch.

2 Single Crochets in the 15 the Stitch.

1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.

32 stitches.

  1. The increases will be made at the start and one more increase exactly on the opposite side of the first stitch.
  2. I started off with 30 stitches. So my increase will be at the 1st stitch and the next increase will be at the 15th stitch.
  3. Even if you are not keeping a track of the stitches, you can easily find the midpoint and make the increases.
  4. Lay the puppet flat and approximately find the midpoint , which would be exactly right on opposite side of the first stitch.

Round 20:-

In this round we will make the gaps for the Thumb and Pinky finger.

Count back 5 Stitches from the point which you have cut off the yarn and mark it with a stitch marker.

Count the next 10 stitches(from the stitch where you have put the stitch marker) and mark it with a Stitch Marker.

This will be the Gap for the Thumb.

Do the same at the other side and mark the gap for the Pinky Finger.

(Lay the puppet flat and approximately find the midpoint , which would be exactly right across the first stitch.)

You will be skipping these stitches. The Thumb and Pinky space will be made after we finish the head of the puppet.

Again lay your puppet flat, join the yarn and make 1 single crochet on each of the stitches untill you reach the thumb gap.

Skip the 10 stitches made for the Thumb Gap. Directly insert your hook on the other side and continue with  1 Single Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.
