Halloween Silhouette Drawing
This is a fun and easy Halloween project that requires very few supplies.
Supplies
Nice size sheet of watercolor paper, light board (If you have a watercolor block you dont need the board or tape) tape, I like to use orange liquid watercolor, Pan watercolors work as well, then of course you need a cup of water, wash brush, pencil, assorted size permanent markers.
Tape Paper to Board
Securely tape the watercolor paper to the board. When the paper gets wet it will stretch and swell. By taping it to the board it will shrink back as it dries and dry flat.
Orange Watercolor
Paint an overall watercolor wash
Pencil Drawing
When the paper is completely dry and flat again begin a very light pencil drawing of your Halloween theme. Be sure to draw lightly, It is very difficult to erase without lifting the paint.
You can take the paper off the board it you wish at this point. I like to keep it taped, for me it is easier to handle.

Begin Outline
When the pencil image is complete, use a thin marker to go over the pencil.
Finish Outline
Finish outlining entire image
Fill In
Continue using the thin marker to fill in tight areas of the drawing
Large Areas
Once you have filled in the tricky little spaces use a thicker marker to continue filling in shapes. Work slowly and carefully so you dont leave and spaces of orange showing. The silhouette should be very solid and black.
Completely Filled In
When the silhouette is completely filled in solid black......
Detail
Go back with the skinny markers and begin to enhance with detail.
Finish
My Halloween silhouette is complete
