This recipe was found in a newspaper around 15 years ago. This year we decided to change the recipe a little because we could not find "red hots" so we used red jelly beans.

We make these cookies every Halloween.

Also sorry about some of the pictures. My good camera's battery died so I had to use my old one.

Ingredients and Tools

There are two ways to make these cookies. We take the easy way and use cake mix. Should make around 3 dozen.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 package of chocolate cake mix
  • Sugar
  • Candy Corn, Red hots (Red Jelly Beans)

Tools:

  • A Glass cup
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Oven
  • Measuring cup
  • Timer
  • Fork

Step 1 - Preheat Oven

The first step is to preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2 - Mixing the Batter

Beat together the peanut butter, water and eggs.

After that gradually add the cake mix.

Mix well.

Step 3 - Making the Cat's Head

1st make 1-1/2-in balls and place them on the cookie sheet.

Push a Popsicle stick into each of the balls.

Next flatten each ball using the glass cup dipped in a bowl of sugar.

Pinch 2 "cat ears" at the top.

Use a fork to make whisker marks.

Step 4 - Bake and Add Candy

Bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes.

Remove from oven and immediately add the candy corn eyes and red-hot jelly bean nose.
