Hand Warmer

Another how to video tutorial on how to make your very own hand warmers. I recycled an old wool sweater for these beauties. Makes a great winter gift for the men in your life who shovel your driveways.
Materials :
- old cotton or wool sweater
- pins
- needle and thread and/or sewing machine
- rice
- embroidery thread
- essential oils
Lets Get Started

Lay out your old sweater and desired form. ATTN : do not use any type of acrylic sweater. They just might melt in the microwave. Cut two forms and sew them together leaving a space as to fill it with rice.
Fill

Turn the sewn shapes right side out and fill with rice. Do not overfill. You will need some room for later. At this point you could actually put a few drops of essential oils in the rice to give it a nice smell. Pin the hole together and hand sew it closed.
Topstitch

Top stitching your shape gives it a nice finished look. Do so by pinning the rice away from where you are stitching. I found it easier to do this one side at a time.
The Finishing Touch

Add some embroidery floss to the edge to pretty it up. I did a blanket stitch here. Now give it to someone to keep their hands toasty warm this winter. Instructions : Pop it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
