Hanging Motherboards on Walls

IMG_3341.JPG
Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to my Instructable!

Today I will show you how to improve the looks of a plain white boring wall in your home!

I love the look of electronic boards, so, I thought, why not hanging them?

And so it begun. I also hung other boards around the room, just like a picture.

Materials and Tools Needed

MATERIALS:

Motherboards
I salvaged them from old computers at the junkyard.

Small chains
Use them to hang the motherboards in columns.

Wall plugs
To attach the chains to the wall.

Screws
To hold the chain.

Paperclips
Chain-to-motherboard hook.

TOOLS:

Drill
To make the holes for the wall plugs.

Screwdriver
To screw in the screws.

Procedure

First of all, you need to know how many columns of motherboards you will attach to your wall.

In my case, I had 5 columns, which means 10 chains, 10 screws, and 10 wall plugs.

I used a picture-hanging-frame-thing to be able to move the chains to the left and right, but it is not necessary.

Take rough measures of the width of the average motherboard, and mark the distance on the wall, it won't matter too much because the chains can widen and narrowen as you please.

Make the holes, plug the plugs, screw the screws, and secure the chains.

Cut the chains to the desired length.

Now you should have a wall with some chains hanging from it. Time to add the motherboards in the next step!

You can use small S hooks, but I preferred to bend paperclips as shown in the picture.

Select the spacing you want, and find the right holes on the motherboard, then just hang it!

You can also leave the CPU, RAM and heatsinks on, but I preferred to remove them to have a plainer look.

Thanks for viewing my Instructable, I hope it inspires you!
