Prepare Stencil
Print out HP stencil and cut to fit on your cutting board. Tape down the edges to keep the stencil steady. Cover the stencil with a sheet of wax paper.
Outline Stencil
Attach the Wilton tip # 2 to the Wilton black decorator's icing and pipe the outline of the stencil. Be sure to work slowly and smoothly.
Make Buttercream
Mix butter, half & half and vanilla in hand mixer. Mix on low for 1 minute until butter is softened, then mix on high for 3 minutes. Place the mixer on low and add powdered sugar. Mix in 1 tablespoon of corn syrup to smooth out frosting. Add more corn syrup if the frosting is to thick.
Dye Buttercream and Fill Stencil
Add 1/4 teaspoon of the Wilton Icing Color Golden Yellow to 1/2 cup of the buttercream icing. Put the frosting in a pipe bag with the #2 tip and fill in the HP stencil.
Fill and Freeze Stencil
Cover the entire stencil with the white butter cream and smooth over with butter knife.Pop the stencils in the freezer for 3 hours or overnight.
Frost Cupcakes
While the stencils freeze, frost the cupcakes with white buttercream.
- Place a large dollop on top of cupcake
- Smooth over top with knife
- Run the knife over the edges to smooth them, this will create a flat edge for the sugar pearls.

Decorate Cupcakes
Sprinkle Wilton sugar pearls on the edge of the cupcake to add shine.
Add Stencil
Gently peel the wax paper off the frozen buttercream. Place the buttercream disk on top of the cupcake. Work fast because the buttercream will start to melt.
Finishing Touches
Use a star tip to decorate the edge of the stencil and to cover any imperfections. Now, your cupcakes are ready to go ! Mmmm, I bet these would go great with some butter beer.
