Heat Regulated Antarctic House

I was inspired by a New York Times article about Antarctic infrastructure and noticed that the houses were built on stilts to allow for easy moving. My house combines column stilts with a modern home design aspect to create a future home for someone looking to live in Antarctica without fear of the harsh weather. The mostly dark exterior preserves heat along with the space saving design of prioritizing more floors instead of a bigger base. The simple exterior would allow more ease in moving if the occasion were to arise. It is designed for up to four people to live in.

Wood flooring, cabinets, countertops, green paint, white paint, black paint, sofa, carpet, shelf, railing, dresser, wardrobe, kitchen appliances, gym appliances, stairs, plants, toilets, sinks, windows, and columns.

Create a 41 foot 5 7/8 inch by 52 foot 3 7/8 inch floor plan using the CMU on metal stud exterior wall. To the left of the entrance add a den with two couches and a rug. Add a pony wall to separate the areas. To the right of the entrance add a walk in closet. In front of the entrance add a kitchen with cutouts in the wall for easy access. Add necessary appliances such as a refrigerator, a stove, a dishwasher and an oven. To the right of the kitchen add a dining area with a staircase going to the second floor. To the right of the kitchen add an exit area with a washer and dryer. Create two floor plans one for the kitchen and the other for the rest of the first floor. For the kitchen add tile floor, and for the rest add wooden floor. To the right of the entrance add a bathroom with an attached closet. Create a ceiling not including the den area.

Create a wooden floor over the ceiling made on the first floorplan. Add a wall to one of the sides of the cutout and a railing to the other. In front of the staircase add a study area with a view from below. Add a room to the left of the staircase for an at home gym. Add a staircase going to the third floor. Optionally, add a plant for decoration near the stairway. Add a ceiling.

Create a third floor. Create a wooden floor covering the whole third floor. Create two bedrooms, one in front of the stairway and another to the left. Add a bathroom to the back of one of the bathrooms with a bath a toilet and two sinks. Add closets to both rooms. Add a bathroom to the left of the stairway.

Create a level lower than the first floor. Add a staircase from that lower level as a base and the first floor as the top.

With the same lower level made for the staircase make the columns attaching the top to the first floor.

Using the paint tool, paint the walls green with black and white to balance. Add large windows to give the space a more open feel.
