Heineken Plant Pot

In this instructable I´ll show you how to reuse a Heineken keg to make a great looking plant pot

Materials

  • Obviously Heineken 5 liter beer keg
  • Dremel Mototool or Dremel Trio ( A drill could be used instead )
  • Metal drill bits
  • Grinding bit
  • Ear plugs
  • Metal scissors
  • Gloves
  • Permanent marker
  • Overall
  • PROTECTION GLASSES

  • Soil
  • Desired plant
  • Garden shovel

Opening the Keg

IMPORTANT! THE KEG MUST BE EMPTY BEFORE DRILLING
  1. Put the biggest bit to the dremel / drill
  2. Make a hole in the top
  3. Make more continuous holes to make a path for the scissors
  4. Take out all the stuff  from inside
  5. Cut the edges
  6. Grind the edges

Wash It

  1. Remove all the internal components inside the keg
  2. Wash the keg to remove the metal dust

Planting

  1. Fill 3/4 of the keg with fresh soil
  2. Put the plant inside the keg
  3. Bury the plant up to the half ( it will depend on the plant )
  4. Enjoy
